Books and More Books

not enough hours in the day

Baby Proof by Emily Giffin

I’ve read all four of Emily Giffin’s books and what I like about them is the female characters.  They are real, sassy, a bit messed up, but likeable nonetheless.  These are women I’d like to have as friends.

Baby Proof is about a couple who, prior to getting married, agreed they would not have any children.  But at some point, the husband, Ben, changes his mind and decides he really, really, really wants children.  Divorce follows and the rest of the story is Claudia’s search for meaning, and soulmate-type love.  I give it an A-.

  1. The sassy character brings to mind the protagonists of authors like Janet Evanovich and Charlotte Hughes.
